ICT – playing with the bee botsThe setting is a registered charity (registered in England 1158757) and Ofsted registered pre-school run by qualified staff and a parent committee. The setting opened in 1974 and operates from the village hall in Chelwood Gate, East Sussex. We are based in a unique setting, with the Ashdown Forest located just behind the village hall offering us access to the surrounding countryside.

A maximum of 24 children may attend the nursery at any one time.

Chalking outsideThere is a paved patio area for outdoor play, in all weathers, and a lawn area. The children are allowed free-flow access to the outdoor area during each session.

We have a small team of qualified staff, ensuring provision is to the highest standards and the unique needs of your child are being met. Our comprehensive policies are available for perusal on site.

Painting a dinosaurOur nursery is registered to receive Nursery Education Grant (NEG) funding. As part of the NEG commitment we have to provide satisfactory nursery education for our children by following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum issued by the Government. Our staff have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the needs and progress of your child are identified within the framework.
